General Confession

O great Guru Vajradhara, all other buddhas and bodhisattvas who abide in the ten directions, and all the venerable Sangha, please pay attention to me.

I, who am named [say your name], circling in cyclic existence since beginningless time until the present, overpowered by mental afflictions such as attachment, aversion, and ignorance by means of body, speech, and mind have created the ten non-virtuous actions.

I have engaged in the five uninterrupted negative karmas and the five nearing uninterrupted negative karmas.

I have transgressed the vows of individual liberation, transgressed the vows of bodhisattvas, and transgressed the samaya of secret mantra.

I have been disrespectful to my parents, have been disrespectful to my vajra masters, and to my abbot, and have been disrespectful to my spiritual friends living in ordination.

I have committed actions harmful to the Three Jewels, avoided the holy Dharma, criticized the arya Sangha, harmed sentient beings, and so on. These and many other non-virtuous negative actions I have done, have caused others to do, have rejoiced in others’ doing, and so forth.

In the presence of the great Guru Vajradhara, all the buddhas and bodhisattvas who abide in the ten directions, and the venerable Sangha, I admit this entire collection of faults and transgressions that are obstacles to my own higher rebirth and liberation and are causes of cyclic existence and miserable lower rebirths. I will not conceal them, and I accept them as negative. I promise to refrain from doing these actions again in the future. By confessing and acknowledging them, I will attain and abide in happiness, while by not confessing and acknowledging them, true happiness will not come.


Visualization at the End of the Confession Prayer

Think that through the force of reciting these names of the thirty-five Buddhas of Confession and Medicine Buddhas, through the power of their pure prayers and vows, through the power of generating regret and the other opponent forces, and through the power of having made these prostrations, nectars and light rays descend from the holy bodies of the buddhas, completely purifying all negative karmas, defilements and imprints collected on your mental continuum since beginningless time. Generate strong faith that your mind has become completely pure.

Then reflect on emptiness. In emptiness there is no I, the creator of negative actions. In emptiness there is no creating of negative actions. In emptiness there are no negative actions created. Even though there are infinite phenomena, in emptiness nothing exists at all. There is no this and that, no me and you, nothing. In emptiness everything is one taste. From this emptiness, everything comes into existence. Whatever exists is the manifestation of emptiness.


Dedication

Due to all the three time merits accumulated by myself, all the buddhas and bodhisattvas and all sentient beings, which are completely empty of existing from their own side, may the I, which is completely empty of existing from its own side, quickly achieve the state of full enlightenment, which is completely empty of existing from its own side, in order to lead all sentient beings, who are completely empty of existing from their own side, to that state by myself alone, who is completely empty of existing from its own side.

Due to all the three time merits accumulated by myself, all the buddhas and bodhisattvas and all sentient beings, may the precious supreme enlightened thought, bodhicitta—letting go of self and cherishing others, which is the source of all success and happiness for myself and all sentient beings—immediately be generated within my own mind, and within the minds of all sentient beings. May that which has already been generated never decline, but increase more and more."

Übung für das KehlKopfChakra...
der sich aufwärts bewegende Wind...

Mit der Übung für das KehlKopfChakra wird der "sich aufwärts bewegende Wind" harmonisiert. Er ist für das Atmen, das Sprechen und das Schlucken zuständig. Wenn er sich im Gleichgewicht befindet, können Atemprobleme behoben und Krankheiten im Oberkörper gelindert werden. Da dieser Wind auch eine enge Verbindung zu den fünf Sinnen hat, kann die Übung bewirken, dass wir besser sehen, hören, riechen, schmecken und fühlen.

Bitte sitzen Sie aufrecht im Lotossitz. Die Hände sind in Meditationshaltung im Schoß abgelegt. Konzentrieren Sie sich auf das KehlKopfChakra. Nun umfassen Sie mit der rechten Hand den linken Oberarm. Heben Sie die Arme leicht an, und lassen Sie sie in dieser Position. Während Sie sich erneut auf das KehlKopfChakra konzentrieren, halten Sie den Atem an. Öffnen Sie den Mund leicht, und neigen Sie den Kopf erst nach rechts, dann nach links, nach hinten und nach vorn. Halten Sie den Kopf wieder gerade, und schließen Sie den Mund. Nun blähen Sie den Kehlkopf mit der inneren Luft dreimal auf und drücken ihn nach außen (die Backen füllen sich dabei mit Luft). Erst dann atmen Sie aus. Öffnen Sie die Arme und senken sie sie...

All you thirty-five Buddhas, and all the others, those gone beyond, foe destroyers, fully enlightened ones and transcendent destroyers who are existing, sustaining and living throughout the ten directions of sentient beings' worlds - all you Buddhas, please give me your attention.

In this life, and throughout beginningless lives in all the realms of samsara, I have created, caused others to create, and rejoiced at the creation of negative karmas such as misusing offerings to holy objects, misusing offerings to the Sangha, stealing the possessions of the Sangha of the ten directions; I have caused others to create these negative actions and rejoiced at their creation.

I have created the five heinous actions, caused others to create them and rejoiced at their creation. I have committed the ten non-virtuous actions, involved others in them, and rejoiced in their involvement.

Being obscured by all this karma, I have created the cause for myself and other sentient beings to be reborn in the hells, as animals, as hungry ghosts, in irreligious places, amongst barbarians, as long-lived gods, with imperfect senses, holding wrong views, and being displeased with the presence of a Buddha.

Now before these Buddhas, transcendent destroyers who have become transcendental wisdom, who have become the compassionate eye, who have become witnesses, who have become valid and see with their omniscient minds, I am confessing and accepting all these actions as negative. I will not conceal or hide them, and from now on, I will refrain from committing these negative actions.

Buddhas and transcendent destroyers, please give me your attention: in this life and throughout beginningless lives in all the realms of samsara, whatever root of virtue I have created through even the smallest acts of charity such as giving one mouthful of food to a being born as an animal, whatever root of virtue I have created by keeping pure morality, whatever root of virtue I have created by abiding in pure conduct, whatever root of virtue I have created by fully ripening sentient beings' minds, whatever root of virtue I have created by generating bodhicitta, whatever root of virtue I have created of the highest transcendental wisdom.

Bringing together all these merits of both myself and others, I now dedicate them to the highest of which there is no higher, to that even above the highest, to the highest of the high, to the higher of the high. Thus I dedicate them completely to the highest, fully accomplished enlightenment.

Just as the Buddhas and transcendent destroyers of the past have dedicated, just as the Buddhas and transcendent destroyers of the future will dedicate, and just as the Buddhas and transcendent destroyers of the present are dedicating, in the same way I make this dedication.

I confess all my negative actions separately and rejoice in all merits. I implore all the Buddhas to grant my request that I may realize the ultimate, sublime, highest transcendental wisdom.

To the sublime kings of the human beings living now, to those of the past, and to those who have yet to appear, to all those whose knowledge is as vast as an infinite ocean, I go for refuge.

So be it!

O Spiritual Masters, great Vajra Holders, and all the Buddhas and bodhisattvas who abide in the ten directions, as well as all the venerable Sangha, please pay attention to me.

I, who am named _________ , circling in cyclic existence since beginningless time until the present, overpowered by mental distortions such as attachment, aversion and ignorance, have created the ten negative actions by means of body, speech and mind. I have engaged in the five heinous actions and the five parallel heinous actions. I have transgressed the vows of individual liberation, contradicted the trainings of a bodhisattva, broken the tantric commitments. I have been disrespectful to my kind parents, Spiritual Masters, spiritual friends, and those following the pure paths. I have committed actions harmful to the Three Jewels, avoided the holy Dharma, stolen from the Sangha, and harmed living beings. These and many other destructive actions I have done, have caused others to do, and have rejoiced in others' doing. In short, I have created many obstacles to my own higher rebirth and liberation, and have planted countless seeds for further wanderings in cyclic existence and miserable states of being.

Now in the presence of the Spiritual Masters, the great Vajra Holders, all the Buddhas and bodhisattvas who abide in the ten directions, and the venerable Sangha, I confess all of these negative actions, I will not conceal them and I accept them as negative. I promise to refrain from doing these actions again in the future. By confessing and acknowledging them, I will attain and abide in happiness, while by not confessing and acknowledging them, true happiness will not come.

"(eneso) steigt, mein Lieber, der Feinheitsgehalt der Glut, wenn
sie genossen wird, nach oben und wird dann zu Sprache."

"Denn aus Nahrung mein Lieber, besteht der Verstand,
aus Wasser der Atem, aus Glut die Sprache."
"Der Ehrwürdige möge es mich noch besser begreifen lassen!"
"So sei es, men Lieber", sprach er.

"Fünfzehn Tage lang iss nicht! Trink Wasser nach Wunsch! - Der
Atem besteht aus Wasser. Er wird sich nicht (vom Körper) trennen,
wenn man trinkt."
Da ass er fünfzehn Tage lang nicht. Dann setzte er sich zu seinen
(des Vaters) Füßen: "Was soll ich sprechen, Herr?
"Sprich heilige Verse (aus dem Rigveda), Opferformeln (aus dem
Yajurveda), Singstrophen (aus dem Samaveda) (wie du sie aus-
wendig gelernt hast bei deinem Lehrer)."
Da sprach er: "Wahrlich, sie leuchten mir nicht auf, Herr."
Da sprach er zu ihm: "Wie wenn, mein Lieber, von einem hochge-
schichteten Feuer eine einzelne Kohle von der Größe eines Leucht-
käfers übrig wäre und es dann - obgleich von ihr fortgesetzt - nicht
stark brennte,
."so, mein Lieber, dürfte von deinen sechzehn Sechzehnteln ein
einziges Sechszehntel übriggeblieben sein. Nun kannst du jetzt
damit die heiligen Texte nicht meistern. Iss! Dann wirst du meine
Erklärung begreifen."
Da ass er. Dann setzte er sich zu seinen Füßen nieder. Da leuch-
tete ihm alles auf, was immer er ihn abfragte.
Da sprach er zu ihm: "Wie wenn man, meine Lieber, eine einzelne,
von einem hochgeschichteten Feuer übriggebliebene Kohle von
der Größe eines Leuchtkäfers, nachdem man sie mit dünnem Gras
bedeckt hat, zum Entflammen brächte und es dann - obgleich durch
sie nur fortgesetzt - stark brennte.
"so, mein Lieber, war von deinen sechzehn Sechzehnteln ein einziges
Sechzehntel übriggeblieben, und dieses ist nun, nachdem es mit
Nahrung bedeckt wurde, zum Entflammen gekommen. Nun kannst

Elegy - oder die Kunst zu lieben...

um das Tal der Liebe betreten zu können, muss ein Mensch wie das Feuer selbst sein. Das Gesicht des Liebenden muss entflammt sein und das geschieht dadurch, dass mit der Liebe Gut und Böse aufhören zu existieren. Wenn die Liebe das Feuer ist, so ist der Rauch die Vernunft. Wenn die Liebe kommt, verschwindet die Vernunft. Der Verstand kann mit der Torheit der Liebe nicht leben; Liebe hat nichts mit dem menschlichen Verstand zu tun. Nur ein Mensch, der geprüft worden ist und frei ist, kann das empfinden. Wer sich auf diese Reise begibt, der sollte tausend Herzen haben, damit er jeden Augenblick eines opfern kann. Attar
